Paula 3 Bargain Project
« on: July 30, 2010, 12:06:03 pm »

Hi there all, I acquired a virtually complete Paula 3 off ebay for £40 a while ago and have finally decided to finish her off over the last few days. She was already fitted with motor, prop, esc, servos and working crane winch, the only thing have had to buy was some green paint for the deck, rest was from the spare bits box! Done her in Fisheries Patrol colours just to be a bit different, she's not based on any specific vessel of course, just a bit of fun while I'm stuck with my bust leg. I like her anyway, and she's nice and light so mrs can carry her about for me. Happy boating!! :-)) :-)) :-))

Named after my grandad who passed away last year, he enjoyed keeping an eye on people, not much got past him:-)

She's looking good number 6.It's nice to see what people do with various hulls ,and it's always good to see people daring to veer away from the kit original colours. I have a paula hull that's been lying around for ages and would welcome any suggestions from readers of this as to what I should do with it(but nothing painful before anyone suggests the obvious). Are there any pictures you could guide me towards to draw inspiration from.I have considered making it into an Archer class vessel or American river patrol craft such as Canned heat.

Hi there, did think about doing her in military colours. Also considered a police launch or harbour/pilot boat, leaving the gantry off, loads of photos on the web for colour scheme ideas. She'll stay as she is for a while now but may change her again in the future. Put some pics on when you've decided what to do with her, she's quite versatile and only limited by your imagination. Thanks for the positive comments, should be sailing her again tomorrow if summertime weather allows it! Dave. :-)) :-)) :-))
