I took out a years subscription to Model Boats magazine, 16 months ago. One reason being, there was an offer on, though the mag is/was pretty good reading.
I used to pick up a copy "as and when" from newsagents.
The offer was an airbrush kit, free with a years subscription. This wasn't a top of the range piece of equipment, but reasonable item, and as I was in need of one at the time, I thought it was a reasonable deal.
Mag started arriving, but no sign of airbrush. I phoned and was told they had been oversubscribed and a new batch was expected insde 2 weeks.
After 3 weeks and still no airbrush, I e-mailed them, - reply was an airbrush would be sent to me in the next 10 days.
2 weeks later still no airbrush!
I emailed again, reply - "...to be sent in the next couple of days."
A week later - still no airbrush!
I left for another week and emailed again. reply - they would look into it (??)
After another couple of weeks I emailed again refering to all the other contacts. Reply - item had been despatched and would be with me in a couple of days.
Nothing arrived so a week later I emailed AGAIN!!!
Result -- NO REPLY!!
I gave up -- what a pile of "whatever" !!!
Bought an airbrush locally. 3 months after expecting one from them !!
PS I've had 3 phone calls from them in the last few months asking me to renew my susciption.
I have been very polite in my replies, explaining why I was not going to renew.
The responses to those was a few seconds in coming "Sorry. Thats not my department"
