Charging batteries

how long does a NHMI battery hold its charge for as i am doing a show and we wont have acces to power for charging really apart from a small generater ?

they tend to hold most of there charge for quite a period 2-3 weeks with not much of a loss but i would top them up after a week or so, you find that new batterys hold there charge better then old ones

NiMH batteries have a greater "self-discharge" than NiCAD.  Most normal NIMH typically show a 5-10% discharge in the first 24hrs after charging, followed by 1% per day there after.  This is at "room temperature".   Higher temperature will lead to higher self-discharge.

Couldn't you charge (or top up) from a car battery or other 12V source?
