R.R.  Cammett do a type 12 hull and bits and pieces for the Bridge etc and plans and masts for
type 41/61 but there is no mention of type 41/61 hull which was similar to type 12 but a few feet
shorter.

G'day Bob,

My name is Tim Amos and new to posting stuff in forums, so here goes for the first time, i hope i get things right. I'm not computer savvy.

I don't build fittings as yet, not until early 2011. I do plan to produce a full range of 72 scale german heavy ship fittings including turrets, a.a.,
bollards, fairleads, anchors, gun directors etc. I am just getting my workshop set up but it is slow.
It's also hard as i am still working full time as a Joiner.

Thanks for that.

At the moment I am very busy building 9 hulls for a few people which I am well behind on.
My boss put a stop to me using his work shop which has caused chaos to my schedule as I'm not at all properly equipped in my workshop yet,
especially for fittings until early next year. Sorry about that.

As for prices I don't know at this stage what they will be.

Please let me know what actual fittings like type and number you need so i can start looking at it if you like.

SORRY to be so vague. My business is only one year old and part time until the end of the year. Then I hpoe to be full time so things will happen a lot quicker.

Thanks Bob,

I do appreciate that your not in a hurry, but i will make these fittings happen. I have always had a soft spot for german gun turrets especially Scharnhorst and Prinz Eugen class turrets.

As Martin said, I do have about 10 cruiser hull masters and the Fuso hull master under construction.

The USS North Carolina hull is now available as well as 16 inch and 5 inch turrets in fact. No other general ship fittings as yet though.

Also Dido class hull master almost complete and turrets available through APS models.

I do also have orders for 2 Scharnhorsts and a Vanguard with their fittings.

The list of ships planned include Destroyers, Cruisers, Battleships and Carriers from 1914 - 1946 of all major naval powers.

Ambitious , but I,m only 32. so plenty of time.  %%.

Exciting times.

Regards.

I was wondering if there was any crossover with APS.
Doesnt APS make a 1/72 HMS Hood at 12 feet long.
1/72 is just starting to become a bit more popular over here, but can see postage prices (as now calculated by volumetric weight) being prohibitive.

G'day Bob,

No , there is no cross over with APS and I.
Allan Pew and I are great friends and he taught me how to build masters, moulds and hulls as well as fittings. We have an agreement that I only build the hulls and fittings that are too large for him or that he does'nt want to do. I certainly don't want to do a friend out of work.

He's choosy now as he is booked out for 9 months in advance on orders and is also retiring in a few years time focusing mainly on the small ships in 72 scale being Destroyers, Frigates, etc.

HMS HOOD, APS does have and has sold a few. I don't intend to produce this ship until Allan says I can when he's had enough of it.

The Dido hull I am producing and Allan the 5.25 inch turrets.

Future hulls I make will have my fittings produced for them.

As for shipping costs, it is a concern of mine and something I will thoroughly look into soon. I do beleive surface sent is the cheapest option
but also the longest. I will give customers several choices on what freight service they would like to pay for.

G'day Jonny,

I have no plans at this stage to build Bathursts, as I do believe APS does them. But I could be wrong about that.

I am open to pretty much anything in any shade of grey though.  :-))
