Anybody watch it ?   Missed the opportunity to complete the circuit by going back to the west coast via the Union Canal and the Forth and Clyde Canal . The Falkirk Wheel transit would have been worth a few minutes airtime.  Pretty good but too much distance, should have been two programmes.

Quite good but as you say it would have easily made two programmes
When I was a member of RNAS Lossiemouth's sailing team we were competing
at the International Clyde Fortnight series of yacht races in 1962.
To get there we borrowed an Admiralty MFV and took it to Rothesay via the Caledonian and Crinan Canals
My next canal trip the following year was the Suez Canal but thats another story.

To come across on the Forth and Clyde you would not transit the Falkirk Wheel as that is the link up to the
Union Canal Level which runs through to Edinburgh.
SWIMBO and I did the Wheel Trip last year. Magnificent :-)) :-)) The modern technology compared to the
Anderton Lift (cutting edge in it's day) that we have used a few times since its restoration shows what progress
means.

This series of Coast seems to be skimming the surface Too big a chunk of coast in each bite.
They certainly didn't do justice to the Moray and Buchan coastline

Yours Aye

I meant that the trip on the Union Canal would have meant using the wheel to go into Edinburgh city centre. The material such as the Antonin Wall (just to let everybody know that the Romans didnt stop at Hadrian`s one , a good bit further south. The origins of the oil industry in UK (shale) etc. all missed. The tunnel under the wall is worth a look.
