When I was a member of RNAS Lossiemouth's sailing team we were competing
at the International Clyde Fortnight series of yacht races in 1962.
To get there we borrowed an Admiralty MFV and took it to Rothesay via the Caledonian and Crinan Canals
My next canal trip the following year was the Suez Canal but thats another story.
To come across on the Forth and Clyde you would not transit the Falkirk Wheel as that is the link up to the
Union Canal Level which runs through to Edinburgh.

The modern technology compared to the
Anderton Lift (cutting edge in it's day) that we have used a few times since its restoration shows what progress
means.
This series of Coast seems to be skimming the surface Too big a chunk of coast in each bite.
They certainly didn't do justice to the Moray and Buchan coastline
