Well I have
almost tested her now......
I was at a pond that the local MBC uses as a home base, and as it has a good low bridge for pond access, I thought it would be a good place to try it out.
As I had some good cheers from the small contingent of members there, and were told that I would be able to try it without disturbance from other boats, I was ready to go for it.
I had just sailed out into the pond, when one of the old members decided to threw in his old steam driven battleship!!
I asked him if he was going to be on the same side as I was, but, no, he would keep on the other side of the bridge.
What seemed like two seconds after that, his ship came rushing into my side of the bridge (where I had just stopped the Corvette, wich by the way was doing very good), and as he seemed to have no throttle on that ship, he had no time to steer obviously, and rammed my Corvette amidships at full speed
, wich in that case was like 8 knots!
Needless to say, but that day didnīt end well at all!
I have a new kit here now, but I will try to salvage what was left from the boat and I will see when I will get around to building it. The hull needs to be replaced, and the fittings on the rear housing......I lost the battery as well, and the one I used is not readily available anymore, so I have to build a new battery-bay too.
I will
never sail any of my boats where the MBC are at anymore!
