Each to his own. I like Northumberland. It can be wet. It can be windy. But it can also be a county of incomparable beauty....without many people (away from the tourist "hotspots").
If I had the money, I think I'd like a bolthole at the top end of New Zealand, but I'd come back to Northumberland. BY.

My apologies PMK you are correct Chas Hall was not in Dr Feelgoods band I contacted him yesterday he said he was asked to attend an audition but his style of boogie woogie was not what the band wanted. He made records with  Digby Fairweather, prior To that he was in a band called The Red Diamonds I used to drive them to gigs In a clapped out Bedford Dormobile.

It would seem the majority of you are very happy where you live, there are some wonderful places in the UK with stunning scenery,  I have toured most of the UK by caravan my favourites, Lake District, Devon & Cornwall, my favourite beach Perranporth where my brother lives

No we are no longer happy where we live so we have sold our house and will become
grey nomads for a couple of months or six (motorhome touring) then looking to buy up the north coast
of the mainland to settle down again, for a while............... :-)) :-)) :-))

From where I live, I can get into the City in 30 minutes, and Docklands in 45. I can make Heathrow in 40 minutes, and Luton Airport in 25. On the fast train, I'm less than 20 minutes from Euston and the West End.

That rings a lot of my bells...

With a "name" like Dodgy Geezer, your erudition in replies and the location of your destinations makes me and Dr. Watson think that a Dodgy Geezer must be a lowly legal clerk....surely "full blown" legalistas would never stoop so low as to mix with us who just mess around with toy boats. BY.

... a Dodgy Geezer must be a lowly legal clerk....

Although I can remember working with Clifford Chance for a short while in 2004, I have never been a legal specialist per se. I might mention in passing that the legal fraternity and/or the police (neither of which I belong to) are by no means the only callings where it is useful to have an accurate idea of when you are, or are not, breaking the law...
