Sorry I missed your post. 6" is what you need otherwise a longer shaft will move motor, battery etc to far forward.

Running gear has now arrived and is installed, I have used:

Deans Marine Kyte motor and one of their double couplings and a 6" prop shaft with an oiler tube.

I have also painted the hull with the main colour and the anti fouling.

My next job will be to fix the portholes.

@DickyD: With your portholes are you going to use the kit ones with a bit of Epoxy behind them or do you have some other trick. When building mine and looking around on the interweb people seemed to think this is an issue? What did you do with your previous kit? Did you have any problems?

Jonny.

Hi Jonny on my last one I stuck them in with Plastic weld and then put a blob of Yab-a-Dab-a-Goo on the back of each one. No problems at all.

hooooo Dicky, are you going to paint a red-cross on the side of this and make a Hospital Ship out of it?  %% %% %%

 {:-{ And, you have the rudder on upside down again.   Is that a 240v plug attachment on the end of the rudder post???

Why dont you make it twin-screw with the other prop shaft you have just acquired?

 :-))  Looking good....

for an amateur with a few he did earlier  <*<  %%  {-)  :}

Not a hospital ship, HMS Campanula.

Rudder is right way up and yes it is a 240v plug attachment on the rudder post. Is it over powered do you think ?

Shouldn't you be doing your own build John ?

oh you building the Star of Bethlehem now then?

I think 240 v may just be a little too much for the Kestrel motor which you are putting in - how ya going to get a 240 v battery in that little flower model. :} :}

Just a quick progress report.

I have made up numerous bits and pieces which I have painted.

I have now started to assemble and paint the main part of the model.

Only I would put a part of the model that is white in front of white plastic for a photograph %)

Plasticote cans for the main colour, white and hand paint Tamiya or Revell acrylics for the rest Martin.
