What's this chappie? He/shes a bit smaller than a mallard.
In the second pic its the one at the back nearest the water

At first glance its a 'Smew' but closer inspection ...'Red crested Pochard' normaly from water fowl collections or a visitor to the east coast. Strange if it is!!!
I stand corrected as there are surely better naturlists than I.

Apparently, it's a White Cheeked Pintail, resident of Argentina. :-))

Our local wetland centre, Martin mere tell me it's a Lesser Bahama Pintail which they have in their collection but it's not one of their's
