not sure how to help you with a mtronics mixer never used one nor would given that you can't edit the amount of mixing, as a suggestion, next time get Actions P40 http://www.action-electronics.co.uk/mixers.php

only thing i can suggest is this...

your setup should be , 2 esc --->two motors  1 mixer 1 servo rudder, check you plugged it all in right.

i have found w tails and v tails , but not sure what your using so can't help to much without that infomation both do diffrent things

by the looks of it that mixer does not support a rudder servo.. so here's the setup

esc's should plug into one end of the mixer using both cables ( outputs)

one cable from the input should be plugged into the rx unit using port 2 ( throttle) and the other into the rx port 1 ( rudder)

the boat will steer by stopping one motor and speeding up the other giving you a turn

there is NO rudder servo function so remove the rudders and the servo!  i might be wrong but i can't see how.

if you want rudder to work you will need actions P40 mixer

Prophet,
Yes you are wrong!!

If you connect a "Y" lead into the receiver channel 1 (rudder) you will get uninterupted rudder function.
Have you set up the speed controllers on the receiver channel without the mixer.
I would also recommend a MARINE mixer which will reverse the inner motor when 50%+ rudder is selected.

I believe the v tail mixer was designed for aircraft and was supposed to be connected to two servos.

Here is a video of one of Dave's mixers in ACTion.
I use this video as the model is light and the propwash can be seen.
This is on a 3 shaft 10 foot hull.

Never seen any V-tail boats. A V-tail mixer is plugged into the Rudder and Elevator channels on the receiver. On application of Rudder command, both servos rotate in the same direction when viewed from above, applying Elevator, both work in opposition. Not much use in a boat, but if you progress to a Sub with X configured tail feathers, it will be some use.  O0

I guess his knowledge was limited to what was on the label. We have had a number of customers who have reported that the MTroniks ESCs don't work properly with their mixer.

As one or two folk on this forum have found, the P94 removes all problems of compatilility because everything is in the one box. Suit yourself.

I still cross my fingers when I watch that video, Bob!

Err, don't think so, you explained what it is, I explained what it does and why and what future use it might be.   %)  :-))

And just to be Technically correct jaguarfold, if you were using stripped down servos as the propulsion source, a V-tail mixer would work to give selective and joint forward and reverse control.

Which type of stripped-down servos would you suggest as suitable power plants for a 1/24 scale  fast attack boat?

What - like these, maybe?
http://www.servoshop.co.uk/index.php?pid=FUTS5050&area=Servo
They seem rather expensive to me.
Would Jaguarfold need to rebuild his fast attack boat with X-configured tail feathers, do you suppose?
[This is all getting rather technical, isn't it?  :o ]

I think it all comes back to the fact that Jaguarfold was talked into buying something that does not do the job he wants it to do.
This surely is down to the trader being economical with the truth although the Mtroniks website does make the point that they
are waterproof therefore intimating they are for marine use.
Must be for seaplanes then :(( :((
