I acquirred a large Yacht Tonight and would like to know more about it...

i believe it to be an  early A-Class type yacht...

Overall Length 78"...Waterline Length40"... Draft 10.5"...Weight 42lbs...Single Wooden Mast...2 Sails...

i always get the classes mixed up but that looks like a J class at 6 foot long.

a class looks more like this

Hi Norry.
              having consulted the plans hand book for 1978  your hull has the measurements of both A and 10rate LOA.
                  It has the displacement of an A class but then the A class waterlines are 55-60in your is only 40in

               The 10rate waterlines were 60-65in.   so your waterline beats you for it being an A class.
                 Of course it does not have to be a class yacht and its not a J either  it does not have the rake on the bow.

                    Is that a rudder at the back of the keel can` t make it out in the pix.   

                   if you get on to the vintage mob they will possibly say what it is or isnae...

Looks like a near scale model of Endeavour 1, at the moment I am making a set of Cabins for my Endeavour and the ones on the boat are very similar to mine.
J Class boat did have the rudder as part of the keel, and had twin Jibs.
