Hello everybody, iv got a spectrum dx6i its a 6 channel and im using 4 channels for twin motors, rudder and bow thruster. Was just wandering if there was anyway of been able to use the other two channels to opperate a winch, or is there any mods I can do to the set so i can opperate a winch? Most greatfull if anyone can help, im not very good with the electric side of things.

Yes, left flaps switch
  • Pull back, winch in
    push forward winch out.

Left Gear switch
  • Back, Winch power off
    Forward, Winch power on.

Here a slightly nutty diagram to run the thing, (and maybe a fire monitor pump)
I worked this up for someones Tito Neri, running on a Dx6, to run their bow thruster and fire monitors.
The four joystick channels ran the throttles and steering on each schotttel drive.

 :-)

Just substitute Winch for Bow Thruster

Push the gear switch forward, and power is supplied to the bow thruster(winch).
Flip the flap switch to change the thruster direction. Pull back on both switches to turn all off.

To operate, the pump, the flaps switch was pushed forward while the gear switch was back.
Pull back on both switches to turn all off.

This system uses standard microswitches.
Just ensure that the rating of the nisroswitch exceeds the max current draw.
