speed control for a Nangee tug
« on: September 10, 2010, 04:41:03 pm »

Hi, Ive just ordered a Nangee tug from MMM it has a T12 motor and a 12 volt battery, what speed control would be advisable ,I have used mtronicks  marine in the past on fast launch type models but am not sure of what to use in a tug.
no doubt there will be many more questions as i get on with the build.
Thanks in advance .

I run a couple of my T12's on Mtronics 15's. I have measured the running current with a dataloger while the boats are on the water and normal running current is about 2A peaking to 9A when changing direction (Prop steering) with Propshop 4 blade 75mm props....

So 15 or 20A will work great, but also have electronize 15A as well.
Hope this is of help
