Radiolink 2.4ghz stopped working
« on: September 12, 2010, 10:00:46 pm »

I am in the process of building my boat and as such, every now and then I need to hook up my rx and tx just so I can test servos, or light switches etc.  However, yesterday, while testing my remote light switch everything stopped working.  Now I dont know if its the tx or the rx that has broken.  The tx still turns on ok and all menus are available.  The rx has the little green light on when the battery is connected and the servos twitch when I plug them in.

I have tried re-binding the two together but I can not get any comms between the two at all.  Does anyone know of a way to test which item has broken???  I also have a Spektrum DX5e anf the A6100 rx which work fine.

Substitution is the easiest method if you have access to another Tx and Rx
I have found in the past that taking all the batteries out of the TX and replacing them
and disconnecting the power from the Rx then reconnecting brings them back to life
Also check that all polarity is correct and the voltages are what they should be

I've had one (out of 5 so far) Radiolink Rx stop working. Not sure why, but at only £10 I put it down as one of those things.

The receiver is the same for the cheap 4 channel Tx and the more expensive programmable Tx.

The tx seems not too bad quality to be honest, but saying that, the rx didn't look too bad either. The rx is a r6eh I think it says (I'm not at home at the mo). Would I be able to pair my dx5e tx with the rx and my a6100 rx
With the tx to see which is broken or are they not compatible with each other?

I don't think they are compatible. There are some Spektrum compatible receivers on the market now, but I don't think the GC Radio Link is one of them. You can't do any damage if you try however ok2

It won't do any damage but it wont prove anything either if they are not compatible
As far as i know GC stuff only works with GC stuff
Try binding the system with nothing plugged in
The try one servo. If nothing happens unplug servo and plug in switcher to see if that works.
If when you tried the servo on it's own it worked the leave it plugged in when testing switcher
This way you should be able to see if anything is pulling the receiver down

Think it must be dead apart from the led. I have tried re binding. The led flashes then goes steady after about 5 or 6 seconds. I have tried with two separate servos one at a time and neither work yet they work on a different setup. They twitch when first plugged in that's all. It was working fine when testing the other day but just stopped
Half way through a servo movement

Are you certain your battery voltage is ok?
The led will light up on quite a low voltage
and twitchy servos is an indication of the same.

Could even be a poor battery contact
Otherwise a Tenner might solve the problem!
if you talk to Mr GC

I stumbled across that place but they don't seem to sell the rx. It is the exact one in the set younlinked me to but not for sale on it's own
