F1 28" Modify & rebuild
« on: September 15, 2010, 09:19:23 am »

Was previously running an old upgraded dolphin outboard but it was on the limit with the brushless motor i was running,so i ordered an REK last wk and it finnally arrived yesterday.
This is what i gotta do fill the holes from the previous outboard and drill new holes for this 1,make new servo mount and ESC mount as this runs 6s lipo,2 x 3s packs, these was placed at the fornt of the hull before but was causing porpoising, the plan is to lye them flat end to end to spread the weight across the pod floor. got a couple of small repairs to do and glass cloth the pod floor also and repaint it.

This is before:

Will post some pics as soon as iv mounted REK leg

Oooo!  I think I have one of these. Never run up since I bought off Flea bay a few years back. Be interested to see how this unfolds, Perhaps I will be inspired to leave the house renovations for a while and persue the hopping up of the old girl.

I seem to recall mines an Academy Models F1. Is this the same thing by any chance?
