MTB SPRINGER
« on: September 26, 2010, 03:53:50 pm »

 :-)
Hi all,

Just finished my MTB Springer, hope you like, the crew are Tamiya 1/20 tyre changing team but as they had shorts on had to paint them as RN sailors in the Mediterain, the torpedoes are made from 19mm dowel with plastic fins, haven't had it in the water yet but powered by a 540- 22 turn Tamiya motor, should either go like stink or dive to the bottom of the lake

Brilliant!
Love the way you've captured the 'feel' of a MTB.
Great stuff!   :-))

Thanks gents, had great fun making it, (arrow5) if the trouble and strife permits I might just do a US gunboat from Veitnam as you suggested. Still waiting for the speed controller to arrive from HK then off to the pond.

Yeah we noticed the depth-charges...are you sure you got the right colour >>:-( %) :} :embarrassed: The renegade submarine is in Danish waters and reported to be heading for Sweden where the Swedish Navy are  waiting to intercept.

Now thats really sneaky of them there Swedes, with the stealth boat they wont see them comming. Had the boat in the bath today to get the correct water line, everything OK until I switched on the motor ' MISTAKE , BIG MISTAKE ' water everywhere, with this power I should have great fun on the pond.

All the springer needs in order to plane, is a ' little' adjustable bow ramp.  %)

... erm - no need to go heavyweight with extra planing plane... just add a little "oomph" as the guy in this video has done: brushless but I don't know the voltage...

edit:
oops sorry for the double post - there's so many posts about Springers...  <:(

 {-) {-) {-)

  Hi Perkasaman,

brilliant video , laughed my socks off !!!!!,  just hope mine goes 1/2 half as fast. If I could get it to go that fast I would certainly try and do a torpedo release mechanisim, then all those with tall sticks and cloth would have to keep an eye open, have enough trouble with the real ones when I'm out fishing, they think they own the blinking sea.
