« on: October 09, 2010, 07:32:43 pm »

I've two 540's which I would like to run from one Mtroniks 25 amp esc @12v.
What's best (safest) , series or parallel?
Thanks

Depends what speed you want them to run at.

Run in series then each motor only gets half the voltage thus half the speed/power.

Run in parallel then each gets the full voltage.

It also depends on how much current each will draw under load, they may exceed the spec of the esc.

Take your pick!

If they are wired in series the two motors together produce half the power of one motor, in parallel, the two produce twice the power of one.  The other weakness of the series arrangement is that unless the two motors are very closel matched, one will "win" and produce much more power than the other.
