First evidence of a time traveller?
« on: October 28, 2010, 07:23:02 pm »

Dont know if anyone else has seen this. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/8093870/Charlie-Chaplin-time-traveller.html

It concerns a clip of a 'woman' in a film clip talking into what some have said is a mobile phone. Nothing suspicious about that. Well, except the film is a clip from a Charlie Chaplin 1928 film! And, the 'woman' looks like a man in drag!

This has never been spotted before but the guy who did notice it says he doesnt know if its true or not.

No great expert here, but a little thing to ponder, as mobile phones need satellites to work who was the person talking to? In the 20's we didn't even have a space race on this planet, so how did the satellites get there?

Well regarding phone masts or satellites etc and, ignoring for a moment the need for a 'time machine' to exist prior to the time you want to travel to ie if this were an example of a time traveller, the time machine would have to have been built no later than 1928 so, are the travellers ET's, there are a couple of options

1, the people who solved the time travel conumdrum also solved the ability to communicate across time or

2, the communication device the 'traveller' was talking into wasnt a mobi but another device for communication or

3, the person the supposed time traveller was talking too wasnt that far away so negated the need for a relay mast of satellite.

or 4.  people are seeing what they want into a grainy seconds-long videoclip from 1928 featuring a person with their hand up to their ear.

Just some old biddy with either earache or a loose hat, or both.  Maybe a wobbly wig.  That and someone deciding he was 8 and a half minutes short on his 15 minutes worth of fame.

or - posh person ashamed to be seen going into the cimema (and Charlie Chaplin film at that), with hat pulled down, collar turned up, holding purse/clutch bag in front of face to hide from camera. Time travel is alledgedly possible, but unlikely, otherwise why are people not popping up all over the place. Think of the research possibilities - real-time drawings and photos of every detail of the ship your modelling. No more of that "couldn't have that shape/colour/whatever at that date".

Surely people from the future know about this piece of film. All they would have to do is travel back to before the film was made and make sure that said Ladyboy doesn't get into shot!
