Hi,

in the meanwhile I made the rudders for my Bismarck. The sacrificial annodes will be added later!

Hope you´ll like it,

Bernd.

Your standard of workmanship, and attention to detail, is seriously impressive - there are many Bismarck models out there in various scales but it's rare to see one of this level of precision.
A couple of questions: What are the filler/drain screws on the rudder for? (it sounds like the rudder is hollow and intended to be filled with water?) Are they a feature of the real ship, or only on the model?
And are the cooling water inlets intended to be functional on the model (as intakes or outlets for the motor water cooling pipes?) I don't think I've ever seen a model, of any ship, which replicates these to the level of detail you have, with the internal ducting/pipework fully modelled.

Hi Edward,
thanks for your response!  :-)

All details are original, not fiction .. ;-) The filler and drain screws were for filling and draining the rudder with anti-corrosion fluids after construction/repair/maintanance and also to get water out of it if it shloud have developed a leak. The rudderes were hollow steel constructions with frames ans stringes.

The ducts could be used for cooling water intakes on an RC model, but mine will be a static model.

Are you builing models, too?

Bye now,

Bernd.

Hi,

it´s timie consuming to maintain several threads on different boards, and may be some do not want to see the same build on several sites ...?!

I can post updates once and a while here, too.

By the way - are you working an a Bismarck, too?

Bye!

It's such a great model, where else can we follow your build?
