In my job as Firefighter we are sometimes advised of current scams or new ones. In the Stoke-on-Trent area we have been told of unscrupulous people following the Meals On Wheels delivery vans/vehicles, noting where deliveries are being made and then these criminals are going back and tricking folk out of money for dodgy/non existent products or services. It is assumed that these scumbags are assuming the Meals On Wheels customers are elderly or vulnerable and maybe live on their own. I don't know if this is just a local problem, but it appears a new development, I've not heard of it before. If anyone knows anybody that uses this service then they shoud be advised to be cautious with people calling that they don't know or aren't expecting, ask for ID, if in doubt call the Police, don't let them in. It's a sad state of affairs when things come to this, Dave.
