Graupner MC-19 TX RF Combination Conversion
« on: November 04, 2010, 11:12:40 pm »

Hello,

I am converting a Graupner MC19/40MHz radio to a Jeti TU2 2.4GHz TX and a Futaba synthesized 75MHz TX RF modules.
Any helpful opinions are welcome.
Regards,
John

have you any reason to keep hold of the secondary frequency ?I am running the TU  with a FF9 and would never go back to a freq that I could have some Idiot switch on and wreck my years of work

I require the synthesized 75MHz TX module for submarine/ROV use. The 2.4GHz TX module is for my sailboat and tugboat. The synthesized Futaba PK-FSM 75MHz TX module requires no crystals and frequencies are easily changed.
I'm in the USA, so have to delete the 40MHz TX.

John

the reason I was wondering if you needed the other frequency's is that the antenna can be fitted where they are meant to go in the middle, you also have to find a place for your display are you using the smaller display ?

I wonder what you are going to use the sensors for Steam / sail ???

Hey!
Thanks for all the help.
I haven't purchased anything, yet. I have promised to purchase the Graupner MC 19 with optional switches that is pictured.
I'm still on the fence about the telemetry system.
I like the EagleTree because it is the most trusted. I would like to customize the display receiver PBA and pare it down to a USB dongle to plug into my Archos 9 PC tablet USB port.
I really like the Hitec telemetry system with their USB dongle but it is still not available.
I was thinking about cnc machining a dual antenna housing to replace the standard single one.
I'm ordering the Graupner or Robbe flexy antenna.
Regards,
John

Hello,
I have changed the TX/RX conversion project.
I am installing the Hitec Synthesized 75MHz TX/ Sombra Labs RX and a Hitec AFHSS 2.4GHz TX and RX.
The Hitec AFHSS 2.4GHz TX/RX will enable me to use the HTS-Navi Telemetry system.
I will be able to use the HTS-Navi receiver USB dongle on the Archos 9 PC.
The HT-SS Sensor Station in the RC model is the sensors receptacle.
The sensor station plugs into the AFHSS RX enabling the RX to wireless send the live-view data to the HTS-Navi Receiver USB dongle plugged into the PC.
It does not need the TX radio for this. I will need to strip the cases off the TX modules and solder some electrical pigtails for plugging into the radio board.
Here are the HTS-Navi Telemetric components.
Regards,
John
