I'm building some uprated ProBar W-75 sail-winches for my Ranger and some for a few of my friends boats.
They will have programmable digital motor controllers, digital potentiometers, stainless-steel gears/shafts, ceramic/stainless-steel hybrid bearings, cnc machined extruded 6061 aluminum chassis and servo arms. The brushed motors will vary in size from an RE-360 6-volt to a 600 12-volt Mabuchi motor depending on the sail area.
