Steel sizes on 1/1 scale ships

Hi,

Is there a standard set of sizes of steel sheet that ships are built with. Say on a flat deck I assume shipyards would use large sheets to cut down on welding etc?

Cheers

Celestialsphere ...it all comes back to logistics...our BlueScope steel industry can produce longer plates of permissable width.....but the transportation   >>:-( constraints are the limiting factor

I am sure it is the same the world over ..... O0 ...here a few basic plate size tables courtesy of Google & our Australian BlueScope Steel....Derek
