Domestic MCBs

Has anyone used 240v MCBs on brushless motor control circuits?
I have a 40 amp brushless motor. Running on 12v what MCB,would be required?
or would blade fuses be a better option?

Hi John

A typical mcb would not work as the tripping/ curve characteristics are designed for a voltage of 180-250volts.

The best bet would be a 40amp blade fuse...

John,

In addition to my last post you could also fit a marine circuit breaker, these are rated at 12 volt....

Thanks

Hi Russ
thanks for the info. I think a blade fuse is what I shall opt for.

cheers
