"They taken him to hospital."
"Hospital? What is it?"
"It's a big building with sick people in it."  {-)

RIP Leslie Nielson

He was one of the best comedy actors I have ever seen , never ever needed to be crude or swear , everything done in the full on innuendo style with a great style and panache that modern "comics" could do a lot to learn from.

Watched the Frankie Boyle "Tramadol Nights" last night and in 20 years it will be Franki who ?? but Leslie Nielsen will still be known and spoken about RIP

Hi Guys, I'm quite a comedy fan, especially guys like Nielson. Sometimes just a funny face would have you in stitches.

I don't think he's to dissimilar to Norman Wisdom really, who sadly left us not long ago.

Funny Guy who'll be missed.

Another sad loss.
His generation are unique and we will never see the like again.
My favourite was Peter Sellers, especially the Pink Panther movies.
Another was Eric Morcamb. The sketch with Andre Previn was histerical and will be remembered by many forever.
Another iconic stand up comic is Frank Carson. We had him at a trade function some years ago and though his jokes were a bit risque at times he had us all sliding off our seats with streaming eyes. :((

regards Brian

Its interesting to see people mention Sellers, Wisdom a long side Nielson, great comedians all, but also fantastic straight actors.
I think this is why they were so great. I bet anyone watching him in Going Gently from 1981 will shed a tear or 2.
as for Neilson have a look here and see what he stared in I think there must be more straight roles than comedy http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000558/
And that is the difference between them and the new wave of comedy, they knew how to act.
