George turner bluebird K3

I have just acquired a kit of the above boat to build during the Xmas holiday. The instructions are very sparse, i was hoping someone may have built one before & could provide a little more information. I intend to fit a brushless motor & use nimh cells. I need some idea of the motor position, c of g, & all up weight.
Any help greatly appreciated.

information seems lacking on this model, so i decided to wing it & see what happens.  The model is designed to take a 400 size motor, but it was always my intention to go brushless. it is also recommended to use an M2 shaft, but i fitted an M4 to allow a greater selection of props to be used.
The kit was simple to put together, the pictures are the result of only a couple of evenings work. I fitted a 3600kv motor, which on reflection is about 20 times to much motor. performance will be 'interesting' on 7.2 volts. I also thing the C of g is to far back, but I will take some lead with me tomorrow when i try it, & try & establish the required C of G.
I am expecting there to be quite a lot of alterations after tomorrows first sailing, but it should be straight forward to alter everything.

Nice one Knoby, make sure you have a camera first time out. {-) {-) {-) that really looks goodyou are probably going to do it antway but tape the hatch on well.I hope they are a nice set of matched BRCA cells :(( %%
