Better than my attempt with a camera phone.
Shouldn't a picture of a TOTAL eclipse show none of the moon whatsoever??

I'll get my coat  :-)) :-)) :-))

BBC Breakfast was covering the story this morning, from Belfast, Ireland.
Just at the crucial point, the moon dipped behind another building thus loosing the image!  {-) {-)

FYI, there is partial eclipse of the sun (80%+ totality when viewed from the UK) just after sunrise on the 4th January 2011, i.e 15 days from now.

Here's my attempt at a shot of the lunar eclipse, but I really need a tripod for this kind of photo. The sunset shot was taken about 15 minutes beforehand, from the same vantage point - our balcony.
