Hi Dave,
You are going to need more than your gas stove Dave. Remember you are one of the skippers.
So you will need match sticks to keep your eyes open, but don't worry Debbie will keep us going
with coffee, tea and of course cake. You can have a feel of what the boat is like on the water at
Ellesmere Port this weekend.
Look forward to seeing you Saturday.

regards
Alan

Hi Everyone,We are at Ellsmere Port this weekend.Had a good day at the show.
Had the ship on the water, but we are down one on motor as one of the esc has gone down.
Had the tug of war,but only with three tug no contest.
Phil thinks you would need around 20 tugs @1:32 scale to stop her.
We have been made very welcome at this show and we will be back next year with a lot of boats on show.
We are back there inthe morning so if you are around this way come and say hi.
Her are some pictures of today.
kind reards
Alan and Phil

I have fitted two new speed controllers today.
They are hobbyking plug and play.
They are 125amp.
No setting up all done for you, also under £20.00+p&p.
Guiness have said that we can only use 24volts so no need for HV esc's
Hopeing to do some testing over the next two weeks.
regards
Alan

Re: AT Boatyard's - Giant 'Type 45' destroyer (2013 THE BIG YEAR)
« Reply #183 on: September 27, 2012, 10:46:38 am »

Hi everyone,it has been some time now,but we are back.
2013 is going to be a big year for the type 45.
She has a lot of miles to do in two big events.
This will be a test on man and model.
Phil has been working very hard in the back ground.
Emailing and making phone calls to lots of people.
We are looking to involve as many clubs and of course Mayhemers as possible.
The two main aims of the biggest of the two events is to raise as much money as possible
for charity and promote model boating.
Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements.

kind regards
Alan and of course the team.

Re: AT Boatyard's - Giant 'Type 45' destroyer(THE RIVER THAMES RUN)
« Reply #185 on: October 09, 2012, 08:10:25 pm »

Well everyone what are we looking to do in 2013 ????????????
We are going for the furthest distance non stop by a RC model boat.
So we will keep going until the batteries are flat or the ship brakes down !!!!!!! (it will not brake down).

Then we will be off to Lechlade in Gloucestershire to start the journey down the Thames to Greenwich in London (around 150 miles).
We are looking to do the journey in four to five days.
It would be good to involve as many model boat culbs and Mayhemers as we can,on our journey down the Thames.
Also if you have a full size boat come and join in.
Maybe when we stop in the evenings we could put some model boats on the water ?????
This will be a charity event raising money for The Royal British legion.
If you can help with promiting or just generally assisting please contact me.
Also ideas of things we can do on the way down also contact me.
Look forward to hearing your ideas and views.

kind regards
Alan,Phil and all the team

hi all members of the black park club did a shorter thames run some years ago.....to raise money for a local heart unit,

we followed the models in 2 full size craft......

we did a 70 odd mile stretch of the thames - in daylight hours only and that took 3 solid days....from first light to dusk

my first comment would be good luck, - the second would be check your timings- the biggest hold ups were waiting ot get tinto locks with the following full size craft...

but it was fantastic to run into well known spots like henley marlow and windsor with a fleet of models  steaming down the river

i am sure we can get some club members involved  in the berskshire area to join you sail ing through....
