Which one, normal propulsion or Steerable Kort Nozzle
« on: December 23, 2010, 05:29:57 pm »

Hi, im hoping someone can give me a bit of advice. ice got the Paula III kit from Robbeand i wish to modify it a bit. my question is that; obviously by putting a steerable kort nozzle on you decrease speed but improve handling. the kit comes as a standard setup of a 550 motor with a 35mm RH prop. if i where to put a Steerable Kort Nozzle on and use a combination of a 40mm prop RH with a Speed 600 motor would i keep/gain speed performance??

I've seen this boat up close and personal with a fixed shaft and rudder and its perfectly adequate the way it was designed.

Not sure its worth fitting a korts to the boat, remember its a v shaped hull, and will 'lean' in the corners on turning, korts tend to be fitted to flat bottomed or curved hull shapes ~(tugs and large fishing trawlers etc) im sure it can be done but i i think its more of a hindrance rather then help. Maybe someone can advise better.
