Lots of pine needles, should have got an artificial tree  >>:-(

Oh yes, and a comment from the wife ''Why do you spend so much time on mayhem looking at models and commenting when you haven't even tried to build one, go and buy one for gods sake ''

Therefore, I am now allowed to buy and atempt my first model  :-)) Getting the ferry to Scotland in the New Year for a few days so will visit a model shop or two  :-)

Regards to all,

Jim.

1:50 which will match my 1:48 Dorina.
I would have liked to build a 1:35 / 32 but I have to get it in the car!  <:(
I will try for HMAS Ararat since she is the only Victorian named boat but there are not many photos of the original.
Steves drawings are of the Armidale so I am drawing up plans of the differences on the later boats.   Even they have changed over the period of service so I will have to determine which time frame.   Shades of oo gauge modeling!

I already had one of Steves Armidale hulls thanks to Martin, but I now have the rest of the gear I need to build it.

Once I am over the pneumonia I will get on with it.

What boat had you in mind Pete ?

I remenber sitting on a mountain in Norway, when I was in the Army, back in the middle 50s, at night, in the feezing cold, together with 6 other squaddies and a pongo, speechless as we watched the wonder of the Lights. Hope you get a good display, I have that memory sharp even now...

Hello folks - and the main reason for joining the forum was finding a Robbe Dusseldorf under the tree :}.  My other half has also been conned into buying me an airbrush and compressor as well :-)) hence following Oldirons' tutorial avidely.

Didn't have a tree in our cabin......got a bit too much sun and had one whiskey too many...marvellous!
Was even blessed by the snow god - last plane out of Heathrow before they closed it on the way out, wangled a direct flight home avoiding New York on the way back.
