 Hi, my nickname is Bas.

 Been sandbagging for months. Excellent help.  Time to jump in.

Can anyone tell me the relationship betrween Mode 1 and Mode 2 in regards to the Mode setting dictating the Rx throttle Rx channel?
I've always assumed to was just a naming method for how one setup their sticks.

My present setup :  Hitec Flash 5 Tx in Mode 1 .  Rx Hitec 6 channel.
                                     ( was used for planes, now boats.)

                          Running an Esc with out a reverse function. ( have reverse by DPDT sw.)
                             Right stick ratcheted throttle, Fully down for off.
                             Left stick, rudder.

                           No problems. All work fine.


           Now in process of getting a Action P94 Esc -Mixer  (If they ever sober up and stop partying)
 From diagrams on their excellent site ,the throttle is on the left stick. Rudder ,right. Simple to fix by changing to Mode 2.

           Question,. Do I need to?

 The reason I ask is that I would like to retain that ratcheted throttle on the right stick for bench work and running another model.
  From the past setups designating some usage to a servo relied of Rx slot position. The Tx has 2 model setup.

  But wiith the throttle,I don't know. I start confusing myself with a centre neutral left stick and ratcheted full throw right stick even when locked into  a second model.

Example. Setup in Mode2 for P94. Switch to second model ,ie, non reversing Esc and throttle conrol would be what?
Centre off. Full stick up for full on? It's really just signal for the Esc to work with. Yes? No?

Or, OR, is it just a case ot staying in Mode 1 and and giving the right stick to the throttle channel..  God my head hurts.

My reasoning changes daily and I may start going in circles her, so, I;ll see if anyone even understands what I am on about........ Bas

Your method of operating the present boat is the problem. Why not fit a conventional 'centre=stop' ESC?
Ref P94, the throttle is shown in the diagrams as being on the LH stick but that doesn't mean that you can't put it onto the RH stick.  You'll find setting up and operating P94 a lot easier if you do have a spring-centred throttle.
BTW we haven't been to any parties - I was actually building P94s on Christmas morning - and we have replied to all the correspondence we have received, but we are closed from tomorrow until 17th.

 Sorry I'm late . Posted at 3 am local time. Figured you would all be at work now.
 Didn't mean to upset you Dave.
 I'm not familiar with a centre stop Esc. I am extremely lucky to get a brushed motor Esc.
Across the counter that is, locally in Townsville. I have to make most things I need.

Is there a model boat frequency Australia wide RaaArtyGunner?
I've never given it a thought. This place is so small , hobbiy interest-wise.
 I've only been here a couple of years but never come across any plane activity.
Having just retired my horizons have shrunk a little.

Suppose Townsville will be out of touch for awhile with the wet.

Haven't seen any mention of Ayr on the news but suppose you still would have had a few mill/inches

Brisbane is OK with minor flooding in comparison with the other areas, real disaster.

Get this, we still have water restrictions 

Neded in some towns/areas because the water treatment plants and sewerage works have been flooded, with some sustaining damage.

Downside is ALL insurance premiums for the entire state if not nationwide, will now rise so that the insurance companies maintain their profit ratio and recoup their "payouts", if any.

But a sincere thanks for your help.

I'm found a couple of solutions to what I was after but as a first post it was far too convoluted.

As to weather, Ayr have had nothing out of the ordinary. That BIG wet went north of Townsville, swung west then down inside.
The point of rain here is that coastal flooding is brief. Inland covers such hugh catchment areas the the English couldn't possible understand the volumes involved.

In Australia. There are 3 frequency bands available for radio control use, excluding the standard 27MHz band used with most rc toys. The bands are:

    * 29MHz FM primarily surface vehicles
    * 36MHz FM primarily aircraft
    * 40MHz FM also for general use

Frequency use may vary from club to club, with regards to which models use which of the above bands. The 40MHz band is used the least, due to potential interference from two-way radios and paging systems.

On the subject of the flooding it brought a smile to my face when I heard the typical Aussie understatement on the radio yesterday.
When getting asked about how the floods had effected him the reply was "yea its a bit damp, 80% of the house is under water, the kids toys and the Christmas stuff is ruined, but it should clean up all right"
None of the wailing and gnashing of teeth you get here when planes get cancelled so people miss their Holidays. just the **it happens get on with it and try to make the best attitude.
