we are making a small scale catamaran for a competition we are looking for a engine and we are wondering what type of 3 volt engine cheap that would work good for this. The boat needs to be 6˝ x 6˝ x 16˝.

you give some dimensions of 6" x 6" x16" , what type of cat are you making please , this would help us in asisting you in the choice of motor . is there any reason why you ae looking at just 3 volts ? where are you going to operate the model ? do you have any pictures that you could post to give people some ideas of what you are trying to build please !

It would help to know the nature of the competition.  Length of run requires a different motor to top speed.  Is it a "switch on and go" comp, or will control be involved?
