First Project Stuart Twin Launch
« on: January 23, 2012, 06:37:17 pm »

I managed to get the drawings today from Stuart by Email which is the only way they are doing them free in this case. Looking at them and comparing some of the castings (my castings were made in 1975) my valve chest is different as shown in the attached jpegs. Is this going to be a problem will I need the castings as per the drawing.
TIA John

Rather than try and gat some castings with the projection for the tail guide, it would be simplest to put a larger hole where the projection should be and fit a bronze insert - either screw 0r loctite it in place.

John,
As Malcolm has suggested to fit a plug on the casting here is a suggestion based on Stuart's 5A engine which has a brass fitting on the steam chest to take the valve spindle..
A simple and effective way to save buying 2- castings.

I did this on a large single cylinder engine on which I used the 5A casting only, you can see it on the valve chest in the pic.
