Any one fancy building this? saw it in smiths today, must admit I was tempted, but at £5.99 a week for a hundread issues it will cost a small fortune!

I decided not to bother with the aston.

The issue with these companies is the threat of them going bust mid way through the build. The aston suppliers have promised they will have the parts for subscribers, maybe this company have done the same.

Eitherway its a lot of money and i dont think its worth it.

I have built an RC spitfire this way and it was a good fun way to build it.  Currently I'm building HMS Victory this way
Both the spitfire and the victory have had good magazines with them and if you are interested in the subject matter then its worth the extra.
Instructions wise these have better instructions than most kits on the market (tho thi isn't difficult in my experience).... both had dedicated forums for discussing the build and these are a mine of extra info.

Yes you pay a little more (tho the Victory partwork is actually cheaper to buy in Finland than the Artesania Latina Victory kit its based on) and I think its down to the buyer if th extra documentation is worth the extra

Who makes the partwork? If its Deagostini or Hachette its probably worth a look

This part works is by eaglemoss publications.  A number of years ago I built the Titanic which was by Hatchette, with no problems at all with the build. Regarding De-Agostini, they brought out build your own model railway last year, and this was cancelled. The build the endeavour has been going in Australia for well over a year now.

The build you own model railway was only a test release.  But I know of several very unhappy people when it stopped.
The partwork thin is definately a love hate thing, but they do definately bring more people into the hobby.

I was one of the unhappy people when the build your own railway was cancelled. I had taken out a subscription to it.
