1/100 or 1/96 cannons - a couple of queries?
« on: March 22, 2011, 07:25:34 pm »

Just sorting out the project after next which will be another 19th Century Frenchie ('cos the plans are free and they are fun!) and I'd appreciate any info on the following.

1. Can anyone help with drawings or photos of the 163mm /6.4inch 1893 pattern 45 cal. gun use as seconday armament on battleships or main on the smaller cruisers.
2. Does anyone make either the 37mm (1pdr) Hotchkiss revolver or the 47mm (3pdr) Hotchkiss as a fitting at either 1:100 or 1:96.    These seem to have been very common weapons wordwide. I'd be happy scratch making one or but I need a dozen or so of each!

As far as 1. is concerned, if anyone can shed light on who made them Krupps, Canet, Schneider etc. I'd be grateful.

Thanks

Tony

Tony

You could try making one, and then have a go at resin moulding. You can buy the stuff in hobby shops.

Or contact No Mustang Mark, I think his company produce resin parts. If you were to give him the one-off, that you produce as a blank, you may be able to sort something out.

Just an idea.

Thanks Wullie, I'm waiting to see Ron at Wickstead.

Thanks Tiger, It's the shoulder stock and arm that stumps me. I'm OK with the resin bits but it's the photo etching that really makes them come alive without being heavy looking.

Regards

Tony :-)
