Well we've managed to sneak across the border and should be arriving in Fort Augustus soon to look at our departure point for tomorrow, Dave. :-)

Just setting up for the long slog, down the pontoons at Fort Augustus.

Mike and Russ's boats in the water being tested, Mine on the pontoon????

In the back ground is the Loch Ness Sea Scout's rib, tied up to their comfortable Cruiser where the lads will be able to take a break from the rib.

Well guys we're on our way, we all set sail at around 9.45 and have done around 5 miles so far! It's not easy trying to post updates so bear with us, thanks, Dave. :-)

We're over the half way mark but have had a headwind and some choppy conditions all the way up so far. We've had to withdraw one boat with an electrical or power problem, it's just impossible to fix anything in these conditions even on the sea scouts cruiser. Dave.

Well we finally reached journeys end around 5.30, however due to the conditions the boats had to do the final stint on the Sea Scouts cruiser. One thing we can't control is the wind and the weather. An experience and good fun had by all though. Photos will be on Sunday night or Monday. Dave, Russ and Mike.  :-)

Well we're on our way back South and guess Mike is too. Every Loch we've been past has been flat calm, typical. Looks like we've raised about £2400 for the RNLI so that's a good result, remember you can still donate to the just giving website, postal details for cheques on there too. Thanks to everyone for supporting us and that have donated so far. Dave. :-)

Well done, and a truly magnificent result, both for yourselves, and for the RLNI.

Here we go with some photos, from the beginning to the end. You'll have to remember I couldn't take any photos while sailing until we had to take Neil's boat out with an electrical problem. First photo's show the start point for the run at the Southern end of Loch Ness at Fort Augustus and the arrival of the modified ex-Rother Class Lifeboat the Mairi Bhan owned by Alasdair MacLean and assisted by his friends, the rest are of the run itself. The cruiser is the Muirtown Explorer owned and run by the Sea Scouts as is the RIB. Skipper of the cruiser is Ian Milne helped by the Sea Scouts, without the assistance of Alasdair, his friends, Ian and the Sea Scouts the run wouldn't have been possible. Many thanks to them for all their help along the way.
