Well not so fast!!

I called a mate who was on this class of vessel and he assures me (as he had to order the replacement) that it was a short wheelbase lightweight Land Rover.
The one with aluminium panels and a diesel engine, but a petrol one was sent and used for over 2 yrs.
So you are stuck with the vagaries of Naval Stores!!!!

Hi Thank you so much Bob,
I now have tree differant SWB Series 1 Land rovers two have a canvas top to the cab roof & back the other has a hard cab roof,
one in Raf blue  the other two in one dark green and the other a lighter Green both with tan/ fawn canvas backs was going to repaint Royal Navy blue with white backs and RN letters on the cab doors  but after what you have said not so sure now could you ask your mate if this would be right, Am thinking of making my  HMS Bulldog as she was first painted White & buff, not the later Gray,
   Again thanks
                Regards Sentry.

if it was a lightweight I would say it would be a soft top, I can't recall seeing one with a hard top fitted. I do stand to be corrected though

With only a slight 'mismatch' the swb hardtop could be 'persuaded' to fit the Air transportable (sorry  lightweight)
