Source: 12.5mm x 12.5mm plastic square tube
« on: February 07, 2011, 11:08:22 am »

Hi,
im trying to source some 12.5 X 12.5 plastic square tube. ive had a look around but i can't seem to find what im after. the measurements are of the outside of the tube, and the walls are 2mm thick. it needs to be strong as its for a crane. does anybody know where i could get this from, or of a suitable substitute? i need two lengths of about 210mm.

Many thanks

i got 12mm square tubing in the past.... if my memory serves me right  it was somewhere like EMA modelling supplies in shepperton or it might have been netmerchants...

www.emamodels.co.uk

or

www.netmerchants.co.uk

having a quick look, EMA do 12.7mm square section...

http://www.ema-models.co.uk/index.php/abs-plastic-shapes/structural-variable-system-tubes/square.html

they also stock other materials and types but not in the dimensions you say you are looking for

EMA are very good but there is a minimum credit card order ......bear this in mind.....

Largest I could find was 9.5mm Evergreen plasticard,
                                   7mm Raboesch Square Tube,
                                   9.5mm Plastruc square tube.

Thanks for the replies. EMA seems to be the way ahead. im going to have a look around a bit more to make my cart £12.00  >>:-( altohugh im sure there are some things that i can get from there. the motors and gears seem good so that might help get the total up.
