With the right pilot's licence (and a bottomless wallet) could you fly that as personal transport?

There is no way on this sweet Gods earth that the CAA will let a private pilot fly that!!!!!!!!

Aircraft such as the BAC Lightning, MD Phantom and the Buccaneer are completely 'off limits' to anyone except the military - even professional jet display pilots cannot fly them (ask the Hanna's at Duxford - they have a Phantom....). The complexity of a Harrier is WAY beyond the ability of MOST pilots....

Can you imagine the headlines in the tabloids if a civilian pilot 'had a moment' with one and it ended up in bits in a school yard????????

Certainly worth watching for the final bid.
Perhaps Ark Royal will come up next.  %)

I think it's a fibre glass promotional scale 1:1display Harrier which is delivered to airshows etc. The wings are easily removed for transport by road.  %)

What's the problem, looks like it is a two seater, so the Chauffeur pilots it no problemo.

Nice, that would look sharp in the front yard :}
It says restored to museum standards but no engine. Could still have some fun with the ejector seat.

And the great thing about landing it at Tesco, it will just blow away any cars that were in the parking spaces!  :-))

  No it ain't, it's a   g e n u i n e one, the field it lives in is quite close. Although address is Bradford, the location is Queensbury, home of Black Dyke Mills Band fame.

Many thanks for the info Circlip. It would be a shame to risk 'dings' in a Tesco car park.  :}
(I'll keep an eye on Fleabay for the auction of the plastic copy.)

It seems that Flee-bay pulled it because it contravenes their "Weapons" policy.

 So we see a policy that disallows a correctly specified "Safe" product but condones liars?
