Graupner Neptun
« on: February 12, 2011, 07:21:45 am »

I just bought a Graupner Neptun, waiting for it to arrive. Tried searching for info but it's limited. I'd like to start with a plan before diving into the build.

It's coming with a 280 motor, which seems a bit small though maybe good for scale speed on calm water. Might consider upgrading. First I need to decide on voltage, to run it on 6, 7.2 or 12v, leaning to 12v sla rather than nimh but would like to hear people's thoughts on the matter. I'd like to add some lights to it also. Probably easier to run two batteries and use them for ballast as well as power.

I've got lots of build questions but will save those until I physically have the kit in front of me.

Also would like any tips or advice on the build and upgrades; the one upgrade I have read about is that the kit supplied rudder is apparently very poor and should be upgraded.

Thanks

PS I posted this on another forum too.

You want to send a Personal Message to "Ghost in the shell" he appears to collect Graupner Neptuns.
