SPENDING CUTS
« on: February 14, 2011, 12:22:38 pm »

Well i suppose it had to happen.....we've cut the aircraft carriers to land the planes on.......

we've cut the planes to land on them,

we've cut the NIMRODS to protect nothing, because the planes and aircraft carriers have gone, and there fore nowt TO protect,

and now on the news it's just been anounced that 100 trainee RAF pilots jobs are to be cut.....

well, i suppose if there's no planes for them to fly in, then it's pointless training then to sit on their backsides,

wonder what DOUGLAS BAHDER, AND JOHNY JOHNSON would have thought of the situation..........the mind boggles.

will the last one out, please turn off the lights. >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o

its OK folks.
the idea is under Darling Dave's utter BS plan (apparently BS stands for big society and not what you all think  {-) )
volunteers will come to the aid of the country just like they did in 1914 and 1939 when those nice people in whitehall sent them some invites in the post.

The current estimate is an RAF of 25000 "strong".. :}   Not to worry chaps, we can still "afford" to give millions in "overseas aid" to India and other prosperous countries...

How much more there is to sell off in the great UK PLC fire sale ?...The "Maldives" next?

I hope they have kept traitors gate's hinges well oiled

What they say & what they really mean!!!!

"Big Society"                  = Maximise financial cuts

"Bankers Bonuses"         = Looking after our Eton friends

"Big Society Bank"          = Dead peoples money stolen

"Efficency Savings"         = Shutting down Public services

"Investment in NHS"       = Privatised medical services

"Citizen responsibilities"     = You're on your own pal

"Better schools"              = Only if you "live in the right area"

"Military Covenant"           = Pay for your own funerals

"Overhaul MP expenses  = Make it more publically opaque

"Better standards"          = Hidden MPs Tax Havens

"Remove Minister perks" = Well, for a week anyway

"GP financial managers"  =   Taking the heat off of us

"Humanitarian Aid"          = Free overseas holidays / villas

"All in this together"        = Well we can survive on a £million per week

"Welfare Benefit cuts"     = Starve the poor pensioners

"Sell the forests"             = "Old Boy network"  spending spree

What you should be complaining about is that these obvious cuts weren't made right at the start of the recession. The money could have been spent training doctors.

Assuming that there were sufficient training hospitals left.  {:-{

at least you still have an air force/ navy. past governments in nz have 'sold' our air force. a few antique iroquois (sp) helicopters is all thats left and the navy consists of a couple of frigates and a row boat.  :-)

Same here in Australia. Our 3 Amphibious capable ships have been declared un-seaworthy. Two of them have hulls so rusted that they are down to 2mm. We had some amphibious carriers on order but that has been cancelled. About all we can muster is a couple of RIBs.

Well, we still have a "New World Beating Destroyer" (or 2) that look the business, but don't appear to be fitted with anything worthwhile.
Then we still have a "New World Beating Submarine" (or 2) that look the busines, but the toilet facilties would appear to be a little archaic, and the Nav.systems could (just possibly) be brought into the 21st century.
All a bit sad, isn't it.
And then, watching the "Manchester" chucking away all their frozen stuff accompanied with much giggling from freshly tattooed crew members (of all 3 genders), I had to wonder about just about everything that the RN stands for these days.
Couldn't the Manchester just have done a reverse RAS or Vertrep with the RFA? I wasn't very impressed with the Deep Freeze stowage either! Everything just seemed to be treated as one big joke.
Even more sad. BY.

Dear Bry
Watched the programme last night,my thoughts were with lots of people in the Caribbean living on the breadline,
why not put into the nearest island and give the food away.
After all they had 48 hours to dispose of it.
