Your stuck with 27 and 40 mhz tx/rx for your sub 2.4 ghz will not penetrate water very well so heres a few good one's i found with 4 channels

http://www.fusionhobbies.com/HF46L-Hitec-Laser-4-Channel-40Mhz-Radio-p/hf46l.htm £99

There are probably much cheaper systems out there but for me personally i would spend a bit more if my vessel is going where where i can't see it, last thing you want is a dodge radio, your risking a lot for spending to little, remember buy the best you can afford!

I'd recommend a 6 channels TX as minimum should you want to convert her to static dive or buy another sub in the future.  2nd hand will be most economical. If buying new you want a computer radio  http://www.howesmodels.co.uk/RadioControl/viewProduct.php?ProdID=1626 and buy a Corona synth rx from Giantcod. If you dont mind a non computer set, then the still excellent and flexible Robbe F-14 cost EUR99 or less including a 8 channel RX.

No need to apologise for being new to this, we all had to start somewhere.

RX = Receiver
TX = Transmitter

Hello Silent running, I have  a pristeen 4 channel Futaba 40 mz transmitter and also matching mini receiver, boxed, at a reasonable (non bank busting) price, only for sale as I bought a Hitec 6 channel trx and Corona receivers from here (receivers off this website) pm me for a price if you are interested, you would need to buy your servos separately, think it is Futaba 4ex but would have to check it out

If you want to buy new and are after a non computer radio (don't have many model that you want to share the Tx with) then I get a Robbe Futaba F-14 http://www.hobbydirekt.de/Robbe2/Robbe/Fernsteuerungen/F14-4-8-1-40MHZ-Robbe-1-F4039-F4039::80968.html
Suits the Robbe U47 perfectly and can grow if you want to add more functions.

If you like the ease of a computer radio and Synthesised Transmitter and receiver (no crystals needed) and want a more modern radio, then this Multiplex is great and is what I use now for my simpler models. The RX even seems to reject other Tx broadcasting on the same frequency. Worth checking around for the best price as I paid Eur 129 from the same source a few months ago
