True boat brushless ESCs - again
« on: March 08, 2011, 03:43:24 pm »

I have been searching for an ESC with instant reverse, but can't locate any that are in stock in the UK. I thought that a Seaking 25A that GC lists was suitable, and a reasonable price, but on checking the specs. it requires two 'dabs' on reverse to actually go into reverse. I don't need massive amps - 20 - 25A is fine. I'm currently using an aircraft type rated at 18A, but have a 10A fuse, so the actual current is less than that.

Anybody any suggestions? I would prefer to pay less than £30, less than £20 if possible.

Hi Barrie

Westbourne models do some 18A for £35.99

I have 2 of the hawk BL 18A in my Atlantic and they work fine. Programming is a bit of a fiddle to start with but you only need to do it once.

Thanks for that - FYI Micron Radio Control do that one at £27.50. It was one that I was considering, but it wasn't clear from the manual if it had instant reverse.
