E.FLY 2.4 GHZ ?
« on: March 08, 2011, 09:55:37 pm »

High, today i recieved a E.FLY 2.4ghz  4ch tx and 6ch rx from a guy who sold it due to upgrading his new model etc.
He tells me the set is unused and it realy is like brand new,it came in a heli or plane not sure.
anyways i got it cheap and i do have a couple of queeries about the 2.4 stuff.

first thing to get me worried is the length of antenna wire on the reciver ! its only about 1.5 inches long ? is this right ?

and the other thing is, whats this about binding, i have no instructions and cant find any on the web in english.

when i switch on the transmitter then plug in the batt for rx a red light comes on and the servo twitches a bit.
after moving the servo forwards and back a few times it settles down and behaves ok. again is this normal for the 2.4ghz stuff or
have i got a duff set of radio ?

I am suprised at the size of the reciever ,it is so small, half size of what im used to as being small.
The transmitter is just basic 4 channel and that will suit fine for wht i want from the radio, but a set of proper instructions would be good.

Ive seen lots of people on this forum raving about 2.4 ghz so thought i would give it a try,its goona probably end up in a electric rescue boat.

any advise on this would be good

and are these sets any good ?

Cheap cheerful and does the job well.
I have to admit I did upgrade the one on my heli as it didn't have the functionality I needed but its still in use on another model

Lots of them about!! If the Rx came with the TX it should already be bound, There are a couple of seconds delay when switching on TX, the processor has to "Boot up", ditto with the Rx, that has to search and find its Tx, so they often peep and flash lights until that happens,do not stir the sticks until it has all settled down. Try and position the Rx in the superstructure as high in the boat as possible, the ultra short aeriel can lay in any position, vertical is obviously better. Below the water line is not good! Have fun with it, it is very nice not to have to check frequencies any more ! James
