Where's the water line - Cumbrae
« on: March 09, 2011, 07:17:36 pm »

I am completing a Cumbrae I bought part built. Just got to painting the hull. Problem!! The drawing is not fullsize nor to scale so how do I work out where the water line should be? Although the hull has plating lines and rivets, these aren't shown on the drawing so are no help.

Here is mine!

The waterline at the stern should be where the rudder post enters the bottom of the hull.

Thanks Oldiron & Colin - the pics certainly help :-) The black & white photo on the instructions is no help at all :((

I've now completed my Cumbrae - just a final bit of varnish, then ballast to add and hopefully first voyage on Sunday!

Very nice too! If she performs as well as mine you won't be disappointed.
