Hello,

I was recommended to this forum by Deans Marine.  Hopefully I can find colleagues to help reduce my trial-and-error learning curve after deciding to get back into model making after an absence of more than two decades.  I have a project in mind, as in times before not an ‘easy option’.  So …

I had always preferred to scratch-build wherever possible.  Projects since the sixties have included a fully sectioned Apollo Command & Service module from plans, some unusual slot racing car replicas making my own vacuum formings, and a wood hulled model of HMS Cressy powered by a Mammod marine steam engine.

I have long dreamed of building a very detailed K class submarine, and have found a source for the basic hull mouldings which will save a lot of work.
I will go to the Submarines section and ask a couple of questions there.  Hopefully some of you have travelled this particular route before.
