How can you work out the scale of a ship from the real length. I would like to know how long the hull etc is for  scale 1.24  and also
for 1.48.
The true size of the boat is  Length 152 feet
                                        Beam     28 feet

many thanks     wallace

divide the tru length by the scale and that will give you the scale length.
ie - 152 feet @ 1:24 = 6.3 feet or 6 foot 4 inches. 28 feet @ 1:24 = 1.16 feet or 1 foot 2 inches.

Hi Wallace...

Divide the original length by the scale............152 divided by 24 (NOT 1.24) = 6.3333333333 feet = 6'4"

If the scale was 1:48 then it would be 152 divided by 48 = 3.16666666 feet = 3'2"

at 1:96 then it would be 152 divided by 96 = 1.5833333 feet = 1'7" or thereabouts
