LOL, I hadn't spotted that, but I see what you mean now. The coke tin perched on top almost looks like a flag too!

As the Robbe batteries are very expensive Robbe probably recommend you use there Robbe battery charger which is probanly very expensive now if only Carling made battery chargers  :-))

In my U47 I ditched the Robbe batteries and went with 12 vols 3 amp hour batteries thes also help with the ballesting of the sub making dynamic diving easier to attain because the U47 now sits lower in the water at deck awash

I use an icharger 106B, which is complete overkill for lead acid battries, but I'm not sure if there is a battery that has been invented that this charger cannot deal with. It does the lot, and is a fantastic piece of kit, and stunning value for money IMO.

It does say that- Pb is lead acid (Pb is the chemical symbol for lead).

The Robbe boats I've seen use lead acid batteries, unless the owner has deviated from the original design.

Derived from plumbonium, which I think is the latin word for lead, which the Romans used extensively for their pipework, and is most likely where plumbers got their name from. If only they charged Roman rates!

Yep deffo lead acid, ordered a charger off of Mainly Models for £13 odd, the Robbe one was £35.  I think i'm turning the corner a bit on the soldering side of things at least, hopefully anyway.
I think the charger is via JP or Ripmax i think. Very similar to the one i've got for the receiver/transmitter batteries.
