iPhly iPad Radio
« on: April 03, 2011, 06:38:07 pm »

I am now considering building an iPhly iPad radio system.
http://www.iphly.org/
The iPad will be installed into a lightweight aluminum frame, carbon fiber receptacle box  and all fastened with super magnets.
I can then use the 2.4 GHz Spektrum TX with full on-screen live telemetry. It can also additionally support a synthesized 75MHz TX for submarine use, one radio with two different TX.
regards,
Giovanni

It would be nicer if it had an actual transmitter gui. That would make it more familiar to
the everyday hobbiest. It is neat, though, that one could potentially use the accelerometer in
the Iphone, or Ipad to just tip the iphone or Ipad and steer a plane or boat.

You can custon write differing graphics for the screen looking exactling like your familiar radio because the software is an open type.
You can design it to look just like a Robbe F14 radio with twin-sticks.

It doesn't affect the operation of the iPad or the TX modules.

That's a fantastic app. I thought these things could be adapted in someway, but I never thought anyone would do it. I've signed up.

I would love to make the screen design like the Jeti DC-16 but with twin-sticks on the left side!

What happens if you get a phone call mid flight?

I'm not using my radio for flight only marine use but you can prioritize the applications.
I'm using the iPad and already using an iPhone for calls so no issues with hijacking my application.

Same as you do with any other set that has lots of functions- you label them or train your mark one memory bank.
