380 MOTORS
« on: April 03, 2011, 10:56:27 pm »

Hi,
Does anyone know where there may be any new 380 3 pole motors for sale please.A  mate is after a couple. They are apparently listed in the new S.H.G catalogue but became unavailable to them after the proof went to print.

                          Thanks,
                           Andy (Balders) :-))

Sounds as if better going for brushless if 25000 or more rpm required. John.

As DickyD suggested check out http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/electric_motors.html

They have a wide range of motors with the full specs.

Thanks everyone for replies and suggestions.I have tried Cornwall model boats and several others but they are all having difficulty as I believe they may have been deleted. The motors are to go in a mates  submarine.

380 once meant (only) that the armature was 38mm long, and by default had 3 poles.
Speed 400s are exactly that, despite the number, and can be had in so many winds its unbelievable
They will rev to 25k, but only if not loaded too much.
I use a S400-6V at 12V in a ducted fan, and while this is pretty brutal it survives (so far)

as suggested by DD the speed 480s (even larger selection of winds, etc) would be a step up in power

Why on earth 25K revs/min in a Sub? :o

would you think a 7.2v Speed 400 would survive on 3 cell lipos in a robbe Katja? I would be water cooling it
